Sinus Infections And Sinusitis – Possible Causes – Usual and Unusual – Nurse’s Guide

If you’ve been suffering from sinus infections or some other type of sinusitis, which basically means an inflammation of the sinuses, you may be wondering what’s caused it. Although it’s not always known and sometimes can follow a cold or may be confused with a cold you may have some ideas of your own. You’ve no doubt heard of the most common causes.

Many people still think sinus infections are caused by bacteria and want their doctor to give them antibiotics. But most sinus infections are NOT caused by bacteria and are caused by invasive or noninvasive fungus, which you can find as household mold. So you want to eliminate that possibility first and get rid of any mold that you may have in your house, apartment, and condo or even in your motor home.

Look under and around toilets and bathtubs and showers. The bathroom is the most common place and also search the kitchen. If you have any plants in your bedroom make sure to remove them all. If you have a lot of plants in your house and continually have sinus problems or get sinus infections then consider removing them although it’s good to have the oxygen they emit.

Less common causes of sinusitis and sinus infections or factors that contribute to them are: nasal obstruction due to certain conditions including swollen adenoids, nasal polyps, foreign bodies, tumors and any surgeries you’ve had, dental infections, tooth extractions, dental surgery and oral surgery.

Consider indoor pollution so ventilate the house as much as possible by opening the windows and doors especially in the winter months if at all possible when many people routinely get sinus problems, sinusitis or sinus infections.

Then there are barotraumas which are injuries due to changes in ambient pressure resulting form activities such as air travel or scuba diving.

Other problems include immune system problems which can be from birth as congenital or as acquired. More serious causes can be due to underlying disease such as cystic fibrosis or ciliary dyskinesia and cleft palate, conch bullosa and a deviated septum.

The more familiar causes are to dust, sawdust and other particles you can find in the air such as pollen, chemical pollutants and dust mite leavings. People often get sinus infections around remodeling work in their homes or if they’re around construction both indoors and outdoors. So look through these causes and think about the environment around you as to what could be causing your sinus infections, sinusitis or other sinus problems. Know that you can treat most of the common causes yourself at home with natural sinus treatments and home remedies.… Read More

Solar Power Motor Homes For Sale

If you are wondering what solar power and motor homes for sale have in common, you might me pleasantly surprised. Solar power can be the difference between boondocking or tailgating in style and roughing it.

Why You Want Solar Power
Let’s face it. You get an RV so you can travel and play without limits. While this works 90% of the time, you are still limited to places that have pedestal power or that allow generators. But what do you do when you cannot use either?

That is why solar power is such a great option. Whether you are boondocking, tailgating, or just stopping at a place without power, solar power is the perfect option. It is quiet, efficient, and has the capacity to power all of your appliances.

Additionally, solar panels last for 20+ years. They actually pay for themselves in the energy saved. Not to mention, going green is good for the planet.

How Solar Power Works
Solar power has been used for decades. Everyone has owned a solar powered calculator or other solar powered item at some point. There was even a big wave of adding solar panels to houses a few years back.

The reasoning is simple. Everyone has access to the sun and the sun has an infinite supply of energy. Photovoltaic (PV) systems take the sun’s energy and turn it into usable electricity. It does this by capturing photons and passing it through the PV material. This allows the electron to escape from its normal position and become part of a current.

How Big are the Panels
The sizes of the panels vary depending on how much energy you need.  It is a process that involves calculating watts per hour appliances used and adding different stuff up. You can find a solar calculator on the Camping World’s website to help you determine what you need.

Used Motor Homes for Sale with Panels
One of the great things about buying used motor homes is they could already have the solar panels installed. Since solar panels last over 20 years, a motor home with solar panels is a good deal. No need to calculate the appliances. No need to buy and install the panels. All you have to do is drive away in your RV.

Solar panels on used motor homes are just one more accessory that adds to your freedom. It is definitely something worth looking into.… Read More

A Different Type of Culture With Los Angeles Attractions

One of the most interest attractions in Los Angeles is the Museum of Tolerance.  This museum is located in the city limits.  The motive of the museum is to teach people about not being bias against others, whether they’re of a different race, creed or religion.

The museum has over 300,000 visitors each year.  It’s not just limited to students that are visiting during a field trip, either.  The museum also welcomes visitors that come from different backgrounds, such as corporate executives, law enforcement personnel and educators.

The Museum of Tolerance features an Arts and Lectures series.  This series has films that have won different awards and other events that focus on human rights.  This museum is one of a kind and there is not another one like it in the United States.  Since 1993, the Museum of Tolerance has served over four million visitors, which include children and youth.

The best part about the concert hall is the acoustics.  This is what the Walt Disney Concert Hall stands out among other concert hall facilities in the world.  The facility is home to some of the best musical groups around, such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale.  These groups pride themselves on playing here and they don’t take it for granted.

What would the Los Angeles area be without Venice and Venice Beach?  Venice is located in the western part of Los Angeles.  It is best known for its beaches, canals and the Ocean Front Walk, which is set up in a circus-type atmosphere.

You can find all different types of vendors, fortune-tellers, street performers, artists, bikini-wearing skaters, basketball (make sure you have your “A” game for that), and believe it or now, Hare Krishnas and belly dancers.

The Venice area is one of the most popular and important tourist attractions in the Los Angeles and Southern California areas.

In the summertime is when the Venice area has the most activity going on.  There’s activity during the winter season as well, but only on weekends.  The Venice Boardwalk area is a great place for walking and riding your bicycle.

The best time to come is midday or wait until late during the weekend.  The area has a lot going on until darkness hits.  Then it gets quiet until the next day.

This is just a taste of the many attractions you will find in Los Angeles.  It would take you a lifetime to see all of them.… Read More

Some of the 240 solar panels at Seldom Rest Farms located, north of Myerstown, PA, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. The farm raises crops, sheep and 17,000 hens. The Hens are kept in a two story chicken house and produce approximately 2.5 million chicks each year. To supplement their electrical needs, they chose a contractor who knew about United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Energy for America program (REAP) grants and helped them through the application process. The farm was awarded a $152,000 grant (25% of the cost). to install the 1001kW solar array to power their farm, a neighboring farm and homes on the local electrical grid. The 240 solar panels were ground mounted with 5-foot clearance underneath to allow sheep to graze and rest underneath protected from the rain, sun or snowfall. Ten inverters change the DC electrical energy from the panels into AC energy that goes into the local power grid. Spring statistics show it is producing more than expected. REAP offers grants and/or loan guarantees for the purchase and installation of renewable energy generating systems and for energy efficiency improvements. For additional important details about REAP, see USDA Photo by Lance Cheung.
